South West Bedfordshire MP Andrew Selous welcomed an additional £562,400 from the Government to Central Bedfordshire Council to focus on early intervention with 258 local families affected by unemployment, poor school attendance, mental health problems, anti-social behaviour, and domestic abuse.
This work across Government has seen a proportion of children going into care reduced by a third. The Proportion of adults going to prison falling by a quarter, and juvenile convictions being reduced by 15%. There’s also 11% fewer people on the programme claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance.
