The Government has given Central Bedfordshire Council £1,976,000 extra cash to fix potholes. This is new money to be used for local highways maintenance.
South West Bedfordshire MP Andrew Selous said “With a hugely increased number of gritting runs last winter our roads deteriorated very badly and I know how expensive damage to vehicles from potholes can be. I very much welcome this additional money so that we can get our roads up to a good standard so that we can all travel safely, whether by car, lorry, motorbike or bicycle”.
