The Department of Health and Social Care have provided £5.878 million for 278 car parking spaces and 240 cycle spaces for staff and visitors, with shower and locker facilities and a further 250 car parking spaces a five minute walk from the Luton & Dunstable University Hospital site for staff. This is in addition to the extra £33.9 billion a year the government is putting into the NHS by 2023-24 to deliver the NHS long-term plan.
Commenting Andrew Selous MP said “I know what a big issue parking is for visitors and staff at the hospital. I am delighted at this extra capacity and particularly welcome the additional focus on cycle parking which the NHS needs to do much more of, not least in GP surgeries as well.”
