Andrew Selous welcomes the latest Cost of Living Payments that will provide 10,200 families in South West Bedfordshire with £301. 8,700 eligible individuals will also receive the Disability Cost of Living Payment of £150.
This comes as part of the government’s effort to support people across the UK in the face of rising prices. Over eight million eligible households will receive a Cost of Living Payment in April, with two more expected later this year. The payments are made directly with no need to apply or do anything to receive them.
In addition to means-tested cost of living support, the Energy Price Guarantee is continuing to help keep household energy bills as low as possible – ensuring the typical family in South West Bedfordshire pays no more than £2,500 for their energy bills until the end of June.
Commenting, Andrew Selous said:
“People in South West Bedfordshire are facing rising living costs as a consequence of Putin’s illegal war in Ukraine. I am glad to see that the Government is providing much-needed support in the form of direct Cost of Living Payments.”
