Andrew Selous MP has welcomed the news that schools in South West Bedfordshire will benefit from the Government’s Condition Improvement Fund 2023-24, which is a £456 million investment to improve school buildings as part of the Government’s work to refurbish and repair school buildings. In South West Bedfordshire, the following schools were successful and will be spending their funding on:
- Dovery Academy – safeguarding and security works
- Beecroft Academy – required upgrades to their building to improve their compliance with safeguarding legislation
- Lime Tree Primary Academy – improvements to fire safety across the school
- Oak Bank School – remedial works for underground drainage systems
- St Augustine’s Academy – extensive window and boiler replacement works
- The Academy of Central Bedfordshire – required upgrades to their building to improve their compliance with safeguarding legislation

“I am delighted that these schools in my constituency will benefit from the latest round of the Condition Improvement Fund. It will enable these schools to refurbish and repair their school buildings. The fund will also lead to safer and warmer classrooms and in some cases, more energy efficient buildings, giving us a climate action dividend.”
