- There are 57,000 public charging devices available in the UK, an increase of 47% since this time last year.
- This puts us on track to reach 300,000 chargepoints across the country by 2030.
South West Bedfordshire MP, Andrew Selous, has welcomed the Government’s announcement that Central Bedfordshire Council has been awarded for £1,413,000 for electric vehicle charging. This is in addition to £348,000 of funding that has already been approved.
Commenting, Andrew Selous MP said:
"I am delighted that Central Bedfordshire Council has received this additional funding to provide more electric vehicle charging capacity locally. It is encouraging to see this and now we need to reduce the purchase cost of electric vehicles."
