Central Bedfordshire Council is one of only four areas to receive early additional wraparound childcare from after the May half-term, before the national rollout in September. Wraparound childcare means parents can leave their children in school from 8am in the morning until 6 pm in the evening.
The Children’s Minister, David Johnston, came to Linslade Lower School last week to listen to teachers, council staff and providers about the rollout of the scheme. There will be seven schools in South West Bedfordshire who will be offering longer hours to parents after the May half-term.
Andrew Selous said,
“I know how important this wraparound childcare is to many working parents and I’m delighted that we are able to offer more of it in South West Bedfordshire earlier than the national rollout in September. I saw lots of very happy children in Linslade School last week having a great time in their session.”
