National Grid managers and supervisory engineers who started as apprentices were keen to promote National Grid apprenticeship opportunities to South West Bedfordshire MP, Andrew Selous, on a recent visit to National Grid's Leighton Buzzard substation which powers the West Coast mainline between Watford and Milton Keynes.
National Grid are working to bring down electricity bills, cut carbon emissions and improve our security of supply through an £18 billion investment programme to support the U.K.'s clean energy transition. National Grid was also the first UK apprenticeship provider to be rated outstanding for three consecutive years by Ofsted.
Speaking afterwards, Andrew said
"I'm very aware how mission critical the work of National Grid is to the U.K.'s Green economy transition, to our security of supply and to enabling lower bills. We will need many more high skilled people to join National Grid to make this a reality and I would strongly recommend people look at the jobs.nationalgrid.com website to look at the opportunities available."
