South West Bedfordshire MP, Andrew Selous welcomed the £512,549 awarded to Central Bedfordshire Council to help tackle homelessness locally. The money is in the form of grants for the flexible homelessness support grant and a new homelessness reduction grant. The aim is to enable local authorities to not only reduce homelessness but also to prevent it happening in the future.
Andrew Selous said
‘We need to do everything we can to make sure that everyone has a decent home. I am the patron of Leighton Linslade Homeless Service which helps people from across South Bedfordshire and I have slept out for many years to raise money for homeless charities.’
