Andrew Selous MP has welcomed investment from the Government to transform five sports facilities in South West Bedfordshire with £792,808 to get more people active and nurture future sporting talent. This money was the Government’s contribution to the Football Foundation grants that funded £970,429 worth of projects in South West Bedfordshire.
The Government grant allocations are,
- Creasey Park Community Football Centre will benefit from two grants totalling £1,800 for goalposts.
- Totternhoe Football and Social Club will also benefit from two grants for goalposts, floodlighting and maintenance machinery valuing £28,700.
- Lancot Challenger Academy will also be getting new goalposts costing £1,247.
- Bryants Lane Sports Field will be receiving £25,000 for machinery.
- Vandyke Upper School received £736,061 for an artificial grass pitch.

“Grassroots facilities are essential for nurturing future sporting talent and encouraging people to get active which benefits their physical and mental wellbeing and I am delighted to see five establishments in South West Bedfordshire will be benefitting from these grants. I went to visit one of the grounds last Friday which is already in use and making a difference.
“That is why I welcome the funding from the Government which will see South West Bedfordshire benefit from £792,808 to improve our local sports facilities and help more people access them.“
